Passive job candidates are not looking for another job—either at their company or at another company.
According to a recent LinkedIn survey of 18,000 respondents across various industries, 75 percent of respondents from around the globe said they were not actively looking for a new job.
That means 75 percent of employees are passive candidates.
Of passive candidates, 28 percent are not satisfied with their current job—they are either neutral or dissatisfied with their current job. That means about a quarter of the global workforce is not necessarily looking for a new job, but they’re not happy with their current employment. Furthermore:
- 14 percent were neutral
- 14 percent were dissatisfied in varying degrees
