Q&A with a Relode Virtual Recruiter
Deb Browning started with Relode as one of our Talent Advisors. To date, she’s placed 44 candidates in new roles, and now, she’s overseeing a team of Talent Advisors—helping them find the same success she’s found recruiting with Relode.
Q: Why did you start recruiting with Relode?
Deb: I discovered Relode a couple of years ago. I’d been an independent recruiter for so long, and I’ve learned there are a lot of agencies that use a 3rd party recruiter to fill a position. The problem is they don’t always pay independent recruiters like they should (if at all), but I thought I’d give Relode a try.
I made a placement through Relode quickly, then I actually got paid.
I then really started to appreciate Relode’s model and its values. Relode isn’t focused on a payday, Relode’s focused on the best possible outcome for all involved. The business model matches great candidates to great jobs and saves employers both time and money. Everyone wins.
Since the beginning, I’ve built relationships with a lot of the folks at Relode. They’ve become my extended family. I found my home—where I want to work and where I want to be and where I’m ready to retire. For the first time in my life, I’ve paid off my home because of the work I’ve done with Relode.
Q: How would you describe what you do with Relode?
Deb: The standard answer would be I’m one of the talent advisors-I recruit. I find and interview candidates and get them placed in awesome jobs. But there’s so much more to it. I have a team I’m growing of new Talent Advisors. Relode’s empowered me to build my own team of recruiters- basically to grow my own business on the platform.
Q: What does it take to be successful as a Relode recruiter?
Deb: You need patience and drive. This isn’t a get rich quick scheme. Recruiting’s hard work. Relode makes it easier with tools and technology, but you still have to be a good recruiter. Relode’s platform makes recruiters better, faster, and more efficient. But that doesn’t mean you still don’t have to work hard.
Q: What do you like best about Relode?
Deb: I don’t like anything about Relode. I love everything about Relode. I love the fact that I can go to the CEO if I have an issue. I love that I’m asked for input and feedback. I also love the fact that I have enough respect and trust from my teammates that they’ll come to me if they need help. We all talk to each other and respect each other.
The flexibility is amazing. Relode’s given me a platform to make more income than I could have imagined. And I’m not stuck in a cubicle doing the same thing day in day out.
Relode’s unique. It makes me feel like I’m a part of something bigger- a community of folks who are trying to make staffing better and trying to make a difference in the world at the same time through Relode’s relationship with Mercy Ships.
Q: Where do you Relode?
Deb: I Relode from my home in central Florida surrounded by nature—trees, chickens in my backyard, baby quail, lovebirds, and the occasional alligator.
